Privacy Policy
Website analytics — how it works and how to opt out. Updated July 2026.
What we collect
When you visit sharpstage.ca we collect basic, privacy-friendly analytics to understand how the site is used and improve it: pages viewed, time on page, scroll depth, clicks on our call/text/WhatsApp/quote buttons, and whether a form was started or submitted.
We also record technical context: device type (mobile/tablet/desktop), operating system and browser (parsed from your browser's User-Agent), screen and window size, language, timezone, the page you arrived on, the site that referred you, and campaign tags (UTM/gclid/fbclid) if present.
Approximate location (city / region / country) is derived from your network connection. We do not collect a precise GPS location.
How we handle your IP address
Your IP address is used once to look up your approximate city, then immediately hashed and discarded. We never store your raw IP address.
Cookies & your consent
Until you accept, we run in a cookieless mode: we count anonymous page views only — no cookie, no visitor identifier.
If you choose Accept on the banner, we set a first-party cookie with a random visitor ID so we can tell returning visits apart and see (for example) that someone read our pricing page a few times before booking. This ID is not linked to any advertising network.
You can decline at any time, and we honour your browser's Global Privacy Control and Do Not Track signals automatically — if either is on, we stay cookieless without asking.
How long we keep it
Raw event data is automatically deleted after 14 months. Aggregated, non-identifying summaries (e.g. “X visitors last month”) may be kept longer.
What we do NOT do
- No device fingerprinting.
- No selling or sharing your data with third-party data brokers.
- No third-party advertising or analytics networks (Google Analytics, Facebook Pixel, etc.) — this is our own first-party system, hosted on our infrastructure.
- No reverse phone or identity look-up services.
If you contact us
If you text, call, WhatsApp, or submit a booking, we keep the details you provide (name, phone, address, job details) to quote and schedule your service — that's covered by our normal customer records, separate from website analytics.
Your choices & contact
To opt out of identified analytics: click Decline on the cookie banner, enable Global Privacy Control / Do Not Track in your browser, or clear cookies for this site.
